“My Special Mom” by Abby Litton

I was so happy to receive a special “All About Mom” paper from my oldest daughter, age 6. She’d filled in words to describe me. It went something like this (italics indicate her additions).

“My Mother is the most wonderful Mom in the world!

Her favorite food is fruit.

She is as pretty as a rose.

She weights 115 lbs. and is 5.5 feet tall.

I think Mom looks funny when she dances.

I know she’s really angry when she doesn’t get her way.”

This kid knows me way too well. Possibly with the exception of the 115 lbs. Last time I checked, it was…ahem…116.

What have your kids said lately that caught you off guard?

I got one of these from my son when he was 3 years old. He said I was 20 pounds!!! And that my favorite flower was “white”, & my favorite thing to do was “go to work” :o ( (I was working a lot of extra time in the evenings in addition to my full-time day job during that stage of his life.) Anyway, it was precious to receive and I of course still have it! (He just turned 5 this week.)

That’s so funny! 20 lbs. It was especially funny to me that she came up with “115 lbs” which is a perfectly normal weight…just not for me. :) It makes me wonder if I told her one time that I weighed 115. :)
